The so-called "Walking Liberty" half dollar got its name from the walking figure of Lady Liberty on the obverse.

This coin was designed by Adolph A. Weinman, and was first issued in 1916.

It contains 90% silver by weight.

These coins command a premium when sold in large lots, such as a $1000 face value "bag" of silver.
