The Royal Canadian Mint issued the Silver Maple Leaf in 1988.  The RCM issues the coin annually.

It has a face value of $5 Dollars Canadian, and a market value that is based on the spot price of silver, as with other silver bullion products.  This coin is allowed in an IRA.

Its purity is 99.99%, as opposed to other silver products which typically have a purity of 99.90%, and contains one troy ounce of silver.
